30 Day Rugby Challenge
Day 6- Most memorable International Test match
IRELAND v AUSTRALIA- NOVEMBER 2009
It was during the height of my James O’Connor obsession. And there he was, warming up on the pitch! I just remember screaming at him, so that’s probably why…
I’ve been at so many games though, Irish ones. I went to Ireland v Scotland in 2008 and Tommy Bowe got two tries. I went to Ireland v Italy this year and that was totally awesome, because the Italians are an amazing crowd! I was also at Ireland v South Africa several years in a row. So yeah, the live games are normally the most memorable.
In terms of matches I’ve watched on TV, it has to be the 2011 and the 2007 RWC Finals (duh), but also England v France in this year’s quarter final. That match just had it all, a Clerc try, a Max try, a Palisson assist, Harinordoquy changing his jersey mid-match (*drooled*), a Yach temper tantrum, a Trinh-Duc drop goal (not a great one, but whatever), England falling spectacularly to pieces, and so much passion and belief and just pure INSPIRATION from the French (all my lovelies <3), and English commentary conceding defeat (I do love when that happens, the English commentary is boss). And also love the French version: “ALLEZ! ALLEEEZ FRANCOIS!!!!”
